Quantum Information Science (QIS) is a new established research frontier that has generated an enormous interest and stimulated novel applications in the last two decades. It aims to use the fundamental law of quantum physics to develop new technologies for the purpose of harnessing as well as dramatically improving the acquisition, transmission and processing of energy and information. In the past two decades, many breakthroughs, both theoretical and experimental, have emerged from QIS. Undoubtedly, such a trend will continue and will offer surprises as well as forming a basis for further research and innovations in the development of quantum technology. The Asia-Pacific Workshops and Conferences on Quantum Information Science, initiated in 2001 and 2004 in Singapore and Taiwan, respectively, have provided a platform for academic exchanges among regional and international scientists and for establishing and initiating global collaborations.
The present conference and workshop is the combination of the series of Asia-Pacific Conference and Asia-Pacific Workshop on Quantum Information Science combined in 2012. The previous Asia-Pacific QIS workshops and conferences are listed below.
